A Year at Brattleby
The village of Brattleby lies eight miles north of Lincoln on the southern slope of the Lincolnshire wolds. The local climate is temperate maritime, with the moderating influence of the North Sea to the east and the rain-shadow protection of the Pennines to the west. Annual rainfall in the area is significantly lower than the United Kingdom mean, making the wolds pleasant underfoot for much of the year.
