Lady Nicoleta Vasile, Baroness of Brattleby, the Twelfth, is a lawyer-barrister specialising in criminal and civil law in both Romania and the United Kingdom, and the founder of Magnus Opifex Seven Ltd. — a British construction consultancy and fire engineering firm. She holds an LLB and multiple LLM degrees, including a third master's from City University of London (2022). She received the exclusive hereditary rights derived from the Feudal Barony Title of Brattleby on 5th September 2022, as published in The London Gazette (Notice ID: 4158083). She founded The Noble House of Brattleby Club in London, devoted to elegance, diplomacy, and personal refinement, and created BLIFFTH Charity for the restoration of Grade I listed historic buildings across Britain. Organiser of The Winter Banquet, an annual white-tie charity gala bringing together diplomats, business leaders, philanthropists, and cultural figures. Listed in the 'Dicționarul Românilor Memorabili După 1989' (Dictionary of Remarkable Romanians After 1989) in January 2026. A man of remarkable versatility, he has built his professional journey across fitness, education, law, hospitality, and creative industries — united by a philosophy of discipline, rigour, and constant evolution. He is a Level 2 Fitness Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer (REPs & CIMSPA), with academic training in Law and Criminology. He speaks six languages fluently — Romanian, English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese. Colswein
1st Baron of Brattleby
c. 1030–1101
Town-reeve of Lincoln before the Norman Conquest, Colswein was rewarded by William the Conqueror with the Barony of Brattleby for his loyal service. Recorded in the Domesday Book among the most substantial post-Conquest landholders of his region (Open Domesday lists 56 holdings linked to him across the realm, with the bulk of his honour in Lincolnshire), he owed 16 knights’ fees for the defence of the realm. He also built 36 houses and 2 churches on undeveloped land outside Lincoln.

2nd Baron of Brattleby
c. 1070–1115
Son and heir of Colswein, Picot inherited the barony upon his father's death in 1101. He died without children in 1115, passing the barony to his sister Muriel.
Muriel
3rd Baron of Brattleby
fl. 1115
Sister of Picot, Muriel inherited the barony in 1115. She married Robert de la Haye, who in the right of his wife became one of the most powerful barons in Lincolnshire.
Richard de la Haye
4th Baron of Brattleby
fl. 1135–1169
Son of Robert and Muriel, Richard inherited the barony along with the hereditary offices of Constable of Lincolnshire and Constable of Lincoln Castle.
Nichola de la Haye
5th Baron of Brattleby
c. 1150–1230
One of medieval England's most remarkable women. Nichola inherited all her father's lands and hereditary offices, including the Constableship of Lincoln Castle. She defended the castle during a month-long siege in 1191, served as High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1216, and played a decisive role in the Battle of Lincoln in 1217 during the First Barons' War. When King John visited Lincoln in 1215, she met him at the gates carrying the castle keys.

6th Baron of Brattleby
c. 1210–1250
Granddaughter of Nichola de la Haye (daughter of Nichola's son Richard who died in 1226). She married William II de Longespée, who was knighted by Henry III at Gloucester and commanded all English troops on the 7th Crusade, where he was killed at the Battle of Mansura in 1250.
William III de Longespée
7th Baron of Brattleby
c. 1240–1257
Son and heir of William II de Longespée. He died from wounds suffered at a tournament at Blyth, Nottinghamshire. The barony passed to his daughter Margaret.
Margaret de Longespée
8th Baron & Countess of Salisbury
c. 1243–1310
Margaret inherited the barony and later became Countess of Salisbury. Through her marriage to Henry de Lacy, the Barony of Brattleby was united with the Earldom of Lincoln, creating one of the most formidable estates in medieval England.
Henry de Lacy
Earl of Lincoln & Baron of Brattleby (by marriage)
1249–1311
One of the most powerful barons in English history. Henry served as Joint Lieutenant of England in King Edward's absence, effectively governing the realm. He fought in the Welsh Wars, attended the Scottish succession deliberations, commanded the Gascon campaign, fought at the Battle of Falkirk against William Wallace, and carried the sword at Edward II's coronation.
Alice de Lacy
9th Baron of Brattleby, Countess of Lincoln, Salisbury & Lancaster
1281–1348
Daughter of Henry de Lacy. Her life was marked by extraordinary turbulence: married to Thomas, Earl of Lancaster (executed for treason in 1322), abducted twice, imprisoned at York, and forced to surrender her inheritance. She took a vow of chastity in 1335 after the death of her second husband, only to be abducted and violated in 1336. She died at Barlings Abbey in 1348.
Henry of Grosmont
10th Baron of Brattleby, 1st Duke of Lancaster
c. 1310–1361
A founding Knight of the Order of the Garter. He saved the lives of the Black Prince and John of Gaunt at the Battle of Winchelsea (1350), was created 1st Duke of Lancaster with palatinate powers, crusaded in Prussia, and served as principal negotiator for the Treaty of Brétigny. He died at Leicester Castle, possibly of the plague.
John of Gaunt
11th Baron of Brattleby (by marriage), Duke of Lancaster
1340–1399
Son of King Edward III. Through his marriage to Blanche of Lancaster (daughter of the 10th Baron), the Barony of Brattleby entered the orbit of the royal House of Plantagenet. When John of Gaunt died in 1399, his son Henry of Bolingbroke seized the throne as King Henry IV, and the Barony of Brattleby merged permanently with the Crown — dormant for 620 years.
