1. UK GDPR Statement
The Noble House of Brattleby follows the principles of the UK General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 in how it handles personal data. Full details are set out in our Privacy Notice. Where the scale or nature of our processing requires it, we register with the Information Commissioner's Office.
2. Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
Modelled on section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, the House confirms a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking, in our own operations and across the suppliers and contractors we engage. We seek to act with reasonable diligence on contractors providing food, hospitality, construction, security and digital services. Anyone may report a suspected breach to the Private Office, which may in turn notify the Modern Slavery Helpline (08000 121 700) or the police.
3. Safeguarding Policy
The House is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults who may participate in any future educational, ceremonial or charitable activity organised by us. Where such activities involve regular contact with minors, we will require appropriate background checks. Concerns may be addressed to safeguarding@brattleby.com, the NSPCC (0808 800 5000) or local authority social services.
4. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
In accordance with the Equality Act 2010 the House provides equal access and treatment irrespective of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. Reasonable adjustments are made for visitors with accessibility requirements (see our Accessibility Statement).
5. Anti-Bribery & Corruption
The House complies with the Bribery Act 2010 and prohibits the offering, giving, soliciting or acceptance of any bribe, facilitation payment or improper advantage. Gifts and hospitality are recorded in a register maintained by the Private Office; thresholds and reporting duties apply.
6. Whistleblowing
Workers, contractors and members of the public may report wrongdoing in confidence to whistleblowing@brattleby.com. Disclosures are protected under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998. We will investigate promptly, fairly and without retaliation.
7. Accessibility Statement
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA on brattleby.com and to provide level access, large-print materials, audio descriptions and BSL where reasonably possible. Please see our full Accessibility Statement or write to access@brattleby.com.
8. Environmental & Conservation Policy
The House holds the title, arms and archive of Brattleby in stewardship for future generations. There is no property or estate attached to the title. Our environmental commitments relate to our own operations — the events we hold, the materials we use and the way we travel — and we aim to act in a carbon-conscious and sustainable manner in each of these.
9. Online Safety & AI Use
The House complies with the Online Safety Act 2023 with respect to user-generated content. AI features (Ancestor Chat, Living Portraits, content suggestions) are clearly disclosed; outputs are for educational and ceremonial entertainment and should not be relied upon as legal, medical or genealogical advice. We do not permit our content to be used to train third-party AI models without written consent.
