The Winter Banquet 2023

The Winter Banquet 2023, the inaugural edition of what has become the flagship event of The Noble House of Brattleby, was held at One Whitehall Place — the magnificent former headquarters of the National Liberal Club, a Grade II* listed building on London's Whitehall. Conceived by Lady Nicoleta, Baroness of Brattleby, the Twelfth, this white-tie charity dinner and ball set the standard for the House's annual tradition of combining aristocratic elegance with genuine philanthropic purpose.

Guests were welcomed by a Scottish bagpiper in full Highland dress before entering the grand ballroom, where soaring columns, stained-glass windows, and dramatic purple uplighting created an atmosphere of timeless grandeur. The evening unfolded beneath a ceiling adorned with ornate plasterwork and historic crests, with candlelit tables dressed in fine linen and lavish floral arrangements.

Baroness Lady Nicoleta addressed the assembled guests from the podium in a bespoke ceremonial gown of ivory and royal blue — a design that has since become her signature at formal occasions. Her speech outlined the vision for The Noble House of Brattleby Club: a modern institution dedicated to etiquette, diplomacy, and personal refinement, rooted in centuries of tradition.

The event raised funds for charitable causes supporting cultural preservation and humanitarian initiatives, establishing the philanthropic foundation upon which all subsequent Winter Banquets have been built.
