Manners are not decoration. They are the means by which people of different backgrounds are able to work, dine and negotiate together without friction.

The Brattleby Academy is the educational expression associated with The Noble House of Brattleby. Its subject is the conduct of public and private life in the British tradition: etiquette, protocol, diplomacy and leadership, taught plainly and without affectation.
This page is a statement of intent and an institutional reference. It is not a shop, a learning platform, a checkout or an account portal. Nothing described here is offered for sale today, and no course, credential, accreditation, partnership or regulatory recognition is claimed to be in place. When teaching is released, it will be announced on its own terms and this page will say so.
Whom the Academy is for
Five constituencies are held in mind as the teaching is written. Each requires a different register; none requires a different standard.
Children & Families
Age-appropriate instruction in courtesy, conversation and consideration, written for families who would rather teach manners as confidence than as constraint.
Professionals & Leaders
Executives, advisers and public figures who negotiate, host and represent — presence, precedence, hospitality and the conduct of difficult conversations.
Organisations & Institutions
Hotels, private offices, luxury houses, schools and professional bodies seeking a consistent standard of conduct across a whole team rather than a single seminar.
Diplomatic & Private Households
Missions, household staff and private secretariats where precedence, seating, forms of address and discretion carry real consequence.

Selective admission
Membership of the Club is a matter of admission, not enrolment. It is selective, it is decided case by case, and it remains governed by its own process. Nothing on this page alters that model.
The Brattleby Academy
Open to learners
The Academy is intended to serve a far wider public — individuals, families, professionals and institutions — without any requirement of Club admission. Study confers no membership, and membership confers no qualification.
Standards and honesty of claim
- No accreditation is claimed. The Academy is not presented as accredited, chartered, regulated or recognised by any awarding body, government department or professional regulator. Should that ever change, it will be stated explicitly and evidenced.
- Certificates speak only for themselves. Any certificate or diploma issued in due course will be a record of study with the Academy and nothing more. It will not be described as a licence, a legal qualification or a public credential.
- Nothing is sold from this page. There is no enrolment, payment, account or delivery mechanism here, and no waiting list that implies scarcity.
- Sources over folklore. Where the teaching relies on established British usage — precedence, forms of address, correspondence — it will cite the convention it follows rather than assert authority by tone.
